Tri-Institutional Molecular Mycology and Pathogenesis Training Program (MMPTP)

The Tri-Institutional Molecular Mycology and Pathogenesis Training Program (MMPTP) is funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the NIH and provides postdoctoral research training and support for trainees with the PhD, MD, or equivalent degree. Trainees must be US citizens or permanent residents. The program comprises 26 faculty members and three regional universities — Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University. The program offers basic or clinical research training in several areas of fungal research, including molecular mechanisms of human or plant fungal pathogenesis, fungi as model system organisms, fungal genomics, molecular systematics, population genetics, antifungal chemotherapy, and clinical mycology.
